What We Do
Education
To play a pivotal role in shaping a nation’s future by empowering students with knowledge, skills and critical thinking abilities, Sanstha satarted with a marathi medium secondary school Matrubhoomi Vidyalaya, at Rahatoli. Matrbhoomi Primary School is established in the year 2003 with the aim to provide quality education in rural area with affordable fees structure.
Later, Pragati Vidyalaya, Badlapur, a secondary school for drop-out students established in the year 2005 and a free tuition centre called as Pragati study centre is established in 2017 for poor unban students.
Sanstha established Mahatma Gandhi Niketan and Acharya Vinoba Bhave Gurukul, a residential school for orphan, semi-orphan, tribal and other needy children in the year 2015.
Sanstha established Shivchhatrapati Vachanalaya in 2023, a box and mobile library in rural area in Thane district.
Women Empowerment
Sanstha is committed to support the women and young girls by training, skill development and capacity building of the rural and poor urban women group. Sanstha is focusing on women empowerment through employment, so they can earn and become self-sufficient which can help them to improve their status. We at Ujwal provide employment opportunities to women in rural area through Pragat Mahila Gruhudyog. At present more than 500 women are employed under this project and they can contribute financially to their families.
Health
To provide primary healthcare services to rural and urban communities through mobile medical units or any other suitable means in order to deliver preventive, diagnostic and curative care at doorstep is another key objective of Ujwal Prabodhini Sanstha.
Sanstha is achieving the objective through various initiative, such as –
- Conducting patient screening activities
- Offering comprehensive health check-ups, diagnostic evaluation and preventive screenings for early diagnosis of Non-Communicable Diseases(NCD’s) such as diabetes, hypertension, anemia and cancer.
Distributing healthy snacks, health suppliments and fruits etc, among tribal students in primary school to address the critical issue of malnutrition.
Environment and Agriculture
Sanstha aslo has identified its objective in the field of Environment and Agriculture as to participate in developmental activities from creating environmental awareness to undertake development, forest formation/cultivation.
Sanstha has established Shamsundar Gopalan Kendra & Sheti Shala which provides free shelter to cows. This initiative acts as a backbone of rural and sustainable farming like using cow urine and dung for farming.
Community Development
Ujwal Prabodhini Sanstha is committed to make a positive contribution to good health and well-being, so as to bring about positive changes in the lives of the deprived sections of the society and provide them quality health care, Education and employment opportunities.
